Background:
Early China experienced stability with the early dynastic period. The Xia and Zhou helped expand early Chinese territories and brought some base level of prosperity to much of China. However, by the late 400s BCE, rival factions began to develop ushering in the Warring States Period. Walls were built between states. Military ranks were also increased. Trade wars emerged to increase revenue. Land was seized from rival states.
