What one thoughtful response would you say to this?

1. I conducted an online reputation audit on my client El Rey Car Audio. It showed that they had a great online reputation on Google, with 35 reviews at a 4.4 star rating. The positive reviews talked about the staff being knowledgeable, helpful, and giving good service. Customers really liked the product selection, prices, and fast installation services. There was a neutral review that said he was not given enough information on finishing his stereo installation, but the other services that El Rey Car Audio provided were good. There were only two 1 star reviews. When searching for El Rey Car Audio on Bing, it shows their Facebook reviews. El Rey Car Audio’s Facebook page has 17 Reviews at a 4.5 out of 5 rating. A few of the reviews were customers that enjoyed their service and recommended going to El Rey Car Audio. The rest were people just recommending the company, without adding any details of their experience. There is no result for El Rey Car Audio on Yelp.

2. (a) The action plan that I made for handling negative results will start with addressing the reviewer and being personable. Say thank you for the review and for sharing their experience with us. I would then apologize, and sympathize with them in this tough situation. Then I would take responsibility and tell them what I will do to solve this issue. I would tell them the solutions that I came up with, and ask if I can help them more offline if they would like to further contact us. I would tell the reviewer what the expectations are for El Rey Car Audio, and how we value our customers and prioritize them having good experiences with us. Tell them how we are going to change and what we are going to do to be better. Then remind them that they can contact us, and thank them again one more time.

(b) A negative review that I found was a 1 star review that El Rey Car Audio received from a customer that said their wheel was damaged from the installation, and that the staff told him they would send their information to his insurance company. The customer said that the insurance provider did not receive anything from El Rey Car Audio. The response that El Rey Car Audio gave was very unprofessional, because all they did was correct the angry customer’s grammar and not solve the issue. My response to this negative review would be:

Dear (Customer’s Name),

Thank you for sharing your experience at El Rey Car Audio. I am sorry that we have not yet sent our information to your insurance provider. I will follow up with our staff to see where the miscommunication happened, and get that taken care of right away. If you would like to contact us further, we can discuss ways to make it right for you because of the inconvenience. Creating a great experience for our customers is our top priority. I assure you that we will do better in the future for installations, and be more careful so that this does not happen to anyone else. Feel free to contact us for any further comments, concerns, or suggestions that you would like to share with us. Thank you again.

3. My action plan to promote positive content is to constantly ask customers to review us on Google and Facebook. Especially after we have done a good job on an installation, or had a good interaction with a customer. We will have signs everywhere in the store that will have an easy QR code that will direct customers to the Google and Facebook review pages. There will be a promotion where customers can get a free item or 10% off their next installation, if they can show us that they posted up a review. This can be an incentive to get more reviews. Having more posts on our Facebook page about leaving us a review can be beneficial as well.

  • Create a data model that represents the given business situation.
    • Be sure to include the following (where necessary): Entities, Unique Identifiers, Relationships, Foreign Keys, and Attributes.
    • Show the relationships between the entities, using the standard notation we have adopted for our course
  • Data ModelBusinessScenario: Geology Tours

    Overview of the Business:

Kilauea Volcano Crater Tours was created to drive tourism back to the Big Island of Hawaii after the 2017 eruptions ended. It was created by state monument officials, and it uses local academic geologists to create (and lead) a series of crater tours. To date, its promotional efforts and most of its sales have been concentrated on the Western United States. Over the past three years the company’s rate of growth has continued to accelerate. Kilauea Volcano Crater Tours now hopes to take advantage of this opportunity by extending the reach of its promotional and sales efforts to other major urban markets through the Midwest and East Coast, including New York, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Chicago.

Such a move places the company at the threshold of unprecedented growth. On the other hand, Jason Momoa, president of Kilauea Volcano Crater Tours, has recently expressed doubts about whether the company’s current approach to order processing, tour creation, and customer relationship management can keep up with the anticipated increase in demand. He has also begun to complain about being unable to get the kinds of information about customers’ needs and purchasing patterns that he’ll need in order to raise an aggressive and well-targeted marketing campaign in these new regional markets. A description of Kilauea Volcano Crater Tours’ business process and the data involved in that process follows.

    Business Process:

For each geologist, the database should keep track of the geologist’s name, highest degree held, and current university affiliation. A geologist who participates in the program usually will stay at the volcanic park for a few weeks, and will therefore typically lead many tours during his/her stay. Each tour, however, is led by just one geologist.

For each tour, officials want to record the geologist who leads the tour, the date and time-of-day the tour takes place, and a description of the route the tour takes through the crater. (There are no “standard” routes, and the geologist is free to choose where to go on any given tour.) More than one tour may take place in any given day, and it’s even conceivable that two tours might leave at the same time.

The database must also keep track of the tourists who sign up for these tours. In this case, we only need to record the person who actually does the signing-up; for example, where a father signs up a family of five for a tour, the database will only have a record for the father. For each tourist (defined in this way), the database should keep track of the tourist’s name, home state, and the number of people in his/her party. Obviously, the database must also identify which tour the tourist is signing up for.

A tour can (and usually does) accommodate more than one tourist and his/her party. Also, there is no restriction on how many times a given tourist can sign up to tour the crater. At the end of each tour, each tourist (again, this is the person of record in the database) is given the opportunity to submit a card giving comments on his/her experience on the tour. Volcanic park officials would like the database to have a field for recording those comments.
