solution

  • Review Chapters 8 and 9 of your course text. As you read, consider the typical import, export, and sourcing factors that determine or impact firms’ choices for entering global markets.
  • Conduct research on and familiarize yourself with at least two countries that you have not already focused on in your Discussions and Assignments in previous weeks.
  • Think about the relationship between the most common exporting strategies used in these two countries and the international trade policies to which they are subject. Consider the broad organizational challenges companies must overcome in the market-country, as well as more specific issues related to tariffs, exchange rates, and payment methods.
  • Select either the small business/product from your Week 3 Assignment or a new and different one (real or fictitious).

For this Discussion, describe an ad that is a full page (approximately 8.5″ x 11″). Your ad (such as a small “poster”) is for the country that, of the two you have examined for this Discussion, fits better with your global marketing goals based on your business and product. You do not need to create the actual ad—simply describe the components according to the outline below:

  • Headline: Propose a possible headline for your advertisement.
  • Primary/Secondary Imagery: What type of photos/imagery/illustrations would you use for your ad? Be as descriptive as necessary, touching on demographics of people who would appear or the photographic or illustrative style that would be used.
  • Body Copy: What verbiage would you include in the body of your ad?
  • “Sell” the country to a group of marketing executives, convincing them that the selected country is their best bet for globalization. Explain the reasons why the country is the better choice.
