***Assignment Details***

In this course, you will experience the next segment of a multi-year integrated case study that offers you the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in the course to a real-world situation. The case study weaves together practical application with doctoral research by requiring that the business decisions made regarding the case study be supported by current or seminal research. In this assignment, you use research to develop three potential resolutions for the business case. Instructor feedback about your proposed resolutions will inform your Topic 5 assignment.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

· Refer to “DBA-835 Integrated Case Study” (Attached)

· Learners MUST review the RUBRIC prior to beginning the assignment in order to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.

· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. An abstract is not required.

· This assignment requires that at least three scholarly research sources related to this topic, and at least one in-text citation from each source be included. Support for decisions should include appropriate current (within the last three years) or foundational, peer reviewed, and professional research.

Directions:

Review the information in “DBA-835 Integrated Case Study.” This includes narrative information as well as financial and supporting documentation.

Write a paper (1,000-1,250 words) that suggests resolutions to the business case presented in “DBA-835 Integrated Business Case.” Include the following in your paper:

1. A one- or two-sentence summary of the sustainability issue presented in the case.

2. A summary of the management theories applicable to the case and its potential resolution. (Benchmarks C 1.1: Evaluate management theories.)

3. A summary of the leadership theories applicable to the case and its potential resolution. (Benchmarks C 1.2: Evaluate leadership theories.)

This is pretty simple. Nobody is going to eat foods they do not like for very long. However, sometimes liking something is a matter of getting use to the real taste of food. If you a whole milk drinker, skim milk can taste terrible – until you get use to it, that is. After adjusting and drinking skim milk for a while, many people never want to go back to whole milk. If you have always drowned your potato in butter, it may take a while to get use to the taste of the potato with just a little butter.

I have never tried the prepackaged, processed foods that come with some plans. I have known two people that bought these expensive plans, but did not stick with it long. I saw some of the food and I can understand why. Putting on body fat is straightforward. You don’t have to carry out almost anything to gain unwanted weight. The truth is, all you need to do that will put on weight is consume more and workout less. Reducing weight, on the other hand, is quite a bit more challenging to accomplish.You have probably been around enough to know what a fad diet is. There are so many floating around that it isn’t funny. Do they work? Yes, but only in the short term. The moment you stop, you are going to put on all the weight you lose and probably more. When you want to lose weight, using a healthy weight loss diet is definitely the way to go. While it may not promise you instant results, you will start to steadily lose excess weight. More importantly, you keep that weight off.

This week is all about the some of the smallest parts of life: atoms, molecules, and cells. For your primary post, please respond to one of the following two topics and address all questions. Also, reply to at least one fellow student on any topic.

Topic 1

: Introduction to the Cell. Watch the Khan Academy video “Introduction to the cell” (1)* and then address the following issues.

  • (a) In the video, the narrator says that we might think that since cells are so small, that they must be simple, but “nothing could be further from the truth.” What did he mean by that?
  • (b) Describe features that are only found in eukaryotic (but not prokaryotic) cells.
  • (c) Did anything in this video surprise you, or was it mainly a recap of material you already knew?

Topic 2 [article]: Lokiarchaeum. Read about Lokiarcheum in the article by Yong (2)* and/or the article by Zimmer (3)*. Both articles describe recently discovered evidence about a previously unknown organism. Then, address the following questions:

  • (a) Lokiarchaeum may be a “transitional form” between archaea and eukarya. What evidence suggests this?
  • (b) Describe one way that this relates to this week’s lesson.
