PATIENT-CENTERED MEDICAL HOME, AMBULATORY CARE, COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS, COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE, AND MENTAL HEALTH (SLP)

The overall goal of the Session Long Project in this course is to examine health care delivery in the United States from a personal perspective and provide recommendations for improvements.

For the Module 3 SLP, conduct some preliminary research on a Patient Centered Medical Home, Ambulatory Care, Community Health Centers, Complementary and Alternative Medicine, or Mental Health facility in your state. You are to create a 12- to 15-slide PowerPoint Presentation (not including the title or reference slides) covering your selected facility in your state. In your presentation, you are to answer the following:

  1. Which populations (e.g., adults, children, or older adults) and what conditions/diseases are targeted?
  2. Who are the participating payers?
  3. What type of insurance product (e.g., HMO or PPO) do the participating payers include?
  4. Who are the participating providers? (List only the type of providers, such as hospitals or community health centers.)
  5. How are the participating providers reimbursed?

In your final slides, you are to make recommendations for the future of health care delivery of the facility that you selected. The recommendations are to be vividly supported on scholarly sources.

SLP Assignment Expectations

  1. Conduct additional research to gather sufficient information to support your design of your department organization chart.
  2. Limit your PPT to a maximum of 17 slides (15 not including the title and reference slide).
  3. Support your SLP with peer-reviewed articles, using at least 3-4 references. Use the following source for additional information on how to recognize peer-reviewed journals: http://www.angelo.edu/services/library/handouts/peerrev.php.
  4. You may use the following source to assist in formatting your assignment: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/.

Charles’s Law discussion and response

Charles’s Law discussion and response

Charles’s Law states that the volume of a given mass of gas varies directly with the absolute temperature of the gas when pressure is kept constant. The absolute temperature is temperature measured with the Kelvin scale. The Kelvin scale must be used because zero on the Kelvin scale corresponds to a complete stoppage of molecular motion.

Examples 1: A helium balloon

If you take a helium balloon outside on an extremely cold day, the balloon would most likely crumble or deflate. Once it goes back into a warm area, it’ll go back to its original shape.

Example 2: A hot air balloon

A torch is used to make the air molecules move faster and disperse inside the balloon. The gas inside the balloon takes up more space, becoming less dense than the air surrounding it. As such, the hot air inside the balloon rises because of its decreased density and causes the balloon to float.

Example 3: Tire pressure

Measure the pressure of your car’s tires when they are cold. Driving heats up the tires and consequently causes the air within them to expand. If you measure the air when the tires are warm, the pressure will be higher. You can double-check that you haven’t overfilled your tires by checking them when they’ve cooled down.

Topic in modern chemistry term paper

Topic in modern chemistry term paper

You must choose a topic in modern chemistry for your term paper. See suggested topics you can pick from in the Discussions Section of Canvas. Each student will write a 3 to 4-page term paper.   Sign up for one topic by emailing me a topic that you want to write about. Once a suggested topic is requested from below, it will be removed from the list of available topics that will be updated under Term Paperdiscussion board. You are free to come up with your own topic of interest but email it to me for approval.  Keep a record of the topic that you sign up for.

For the paper, use size 12 font, Times New Roman, double-spaced. Include a title page and a reference page and these do not count as one of the 3 to 4 pages.  Each student will write this paper in his/her own words and must include all references.  Use at least 5 references. Remember, plagiarism is academic dishonesty. Your submitted paper will be checked for plagiarism.

The title page must include the title of the paper, your name and date of submission.
